William P. Kiehl, Ed. D. is the immediate past editor of American Diplomacy and currently serves as Contributing Editor for the Book Shelf. Following a 33 year Foreign Service career in public diplomacy in Europe and Asia, he founded the international public affairs consultancy PDWorldwide in 2003. His doctorate in Higher Education Management is from the University of Pennsylvania. He is the author of Global Intentions Local Results, editor of America’s Dialogue with the World and The Eagle and the Elephant: Thai-American Relations Since 1833 and has written a number of articles and book chapters on public diplomacy and international affairs.
